Blackberry Basil Crush

INGREDIENTS

1-2 tsp sugar

3-4 basil leaves

1/2 lime

1/4 cup frozen or fresh blackberries

2 ounces bourbon whiskey

Ice cubes

2 ounces club soda

INSTRUCTIONS

1. In a cocktail shaker combine sugar, basil leaves, lime juice, blackberries, and bourbon.

2. Muddle to break up the berries, basil, and lime, and to dissolve the sugar.

3. Add a generous amount of ice, shake to chill and combine.

4. Fill an old fashioned glass with ice. Strain cocktail over ice, top off with club soda. Garnish with additional basil, berries, and lime if desired.

With this recipe the bourbon can be exchanged for any other alcohol: Tequila, Vodka, Scotch, Gin or Rum.

Double the club soda to make it non-alcoholic.
