Dr. Weigner is a National Board Certified Chiropractor, a Certified Clinical Electromyographer, a Certified Decompression Practitioner, and Certified with a specialized study in Physiological Therapeutics. Weigner has extensive post education in the rehabilitation of spinal and extremity injuries and specializes in Neuropathies, Fibromyalgia, and Weight Loss.

One of the most challenging issues for most Americans today is weight. According to the CDC, overweight and obesity may raise the risk of illness from high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, certain types of cancer, arthritis, and breathing problems. As weight increases, so does the prevalence of health risks.

The practice is using HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) for weight loss with positive results. But in 2021, the FDA approved an even more effective treatment using semaglutide. This once-weekly injection is designed for chronic weight management in adults with obesity or overweight with weight-related conditions (such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol), for use in addition to a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity. The injection works by mimicking a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) that targets areas of the brain that regulate appetite and food intake.
Malekina points out that losing 5% to 10% of body weight has been associated with a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease in adult patients with obesity or overweight. “We’ve seen some very positive results with this new treatment making a noticeable impact on the quality of life of our patients. “ adds Malenkina.
