1. A Setting That Inspires Connection

How often do we truly take a moment to appreciate the people who matter most in our lives—the family you hold dear but don’t see often enough, the team members who drive your business forward or the friends who stand by you through life’s ups and downs? How often do we pause for reflection and connection, to strengthen our sense of fellowship and nurture the bonds that builds a stronger, more connected community?

Caboose Farm in Sabillasville, Maryland, is the perfect destination for connection, nestled in the rolling hills of Frederick County, this serene retreat is just a short drive from downtown Frederick and easily accessible for travelers from Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Yet it feels worlds away.

With seven charming houses across 200 scenic acres, Caboose Farm offers privacy, yet ample space for guests to come together and connect.  Each home is thoughtfully equipped with cozy furnishings and modern comforts, inviting you to relax on a porch rocking chair, gather by the fire pit under the stars and leave your worries behind.

"As we approach our fifth year of hosting our Annual Parish Retreats at Caboose Farm, we are reminded of the blessings our church has experienced at this location. This retreat has strengthened our sense of fellowship and community among our members. We love Caboose Farm and are excited to return for our upcoming summer retreat in 2025!" - The Church of the Resurrection, Washington DC

2. On-site Adventure for Every Interest
With activities for every interest, Caboose Farm ensures that all guests stay entertained. On-site amenities include private hiking trails, kayaking, paddleboarding, lawn games, fishing, a movie theater and game room. The farm’s variety makes it easy for groups with diverse preferences to bond over shared experiences. Caboose Farm is continually enhancing its property to create a more enjoyable and welcoming experience for guests. Last year, the farm planted over 1,900 trees, and this April, it will be adding wildflowers to one of its meadows. By mid-summer, these vibrant blooms will further elevate the farm’s already breathtaking landscape.

For those craving a close adventure, Caboose Farm is located near Catoctin Mountain Park, where hikers can enjoy scenic trails and refreshing waterfalls. A past guest recalled, “Our family caravanned to Catoctin Mountain Park for a morning hike and a dip in a cool waterfall.”

3. Tailored Accommodations and Flexibility for Every Gathering Size
Whether you’re planning a leadership retreat, corporate event or family reunion, Caboose Farm has accommodations and lodging to suit your needs. With seven houses featuring 33 bedrooms, the property comfortably sleeps up to 97 guests and can host events for over 200 people. Fully equipped kitchens and versatile spaces make it easy to customize your gathering—whether for shared meals, workshops or celebratory events.

For corporate retreats, Caboose Farm is fully equipped to meet professional needs. All houses feature high speed WIFI, Smart TVs with AirPlay and mirroring capabilities. The property includes audio-visual equipment as well as tables and chairs to accommodate work sessions. One guest shared, “The spacious rooms, well-equipped kitchens and beautiful common areas made it easy for everyone to get together, comfortably.” The event barn on property can also accommodate groups for large gatherings.

4. Seclusion with Proximity to Attractions
While Caboose Farm feels like a private oasis, it is conveniently located near some of Maryland’s most beloved attractions. Guests can visit Cunningham Falls State Park, tour local wineries or enjoy a historic day trip to Gettysburg. For winter retreats, nearby ski resorts like Liberty Mountain are just a short drive away. The property is also in close proximity to Camp David, adding to its appeal.

Caboose Farm regularly hosts athletic groups like Dickinson College’s cross-country teams, who have returned for the past 6 years of our pre-season training schedule, drawn by the farm’s proximity to trails and training areas.

Caboose Farm’s exceptional staff is at the heart of every memorable experience. As a family-owned property, Caboose Farm thrives on personal care and attention to detail, ensuring that every guest feels like part of the family.
