Furnished With Care

A family-owned furniture store redefining service through education, affordability, and genuine care.

Buying a new piece of furniture can be stressful. It’s easy to find yourself in a high-pressure situation with expensive price tags and confusing terms getting thrown at you. At Venta Furnishings, owners Erica and David Bogran want you to have a different kind of experience in their showroom. They focus on making clients feel educated, empowered, and genuinely cared for, creating a family-first experience that turns a home investment into a confident decision.

The Bogran’s journey in the furniture business began a little over nine years ago when David made a small investment with a partner, selling furniture out of a storage unit. After the first month, David came to Erica and told her that he felt like this could really turn into something. They agreed to invest the money they had earned that month back in the business, and they quickly grew to ten storage units. That is when Erica and David decided to move into the showroom that they have now, just down the road from the original storage units. They are still in that showroom today. They expanded and upgraded the space in 2019.

Erica made Venta Furnishings her full-time job in February 2020, just weeks before the pandemic forced most businesses to close their doors. Venta Furnishings was able to remain open because mattresses were considered essential materials. They persevered through that challenging time as Erica learned the business side of running a furniture store.

You can buy just about anything you would need for your home at Venta Furnishings. They have a wide variety of living room, bedroom, and dining room sets. Mattresses, home office, entertainment, and outdoor furniture are also on display in the showroom. If you are looking for smaller pieces to decorate your home, they offer accessories like rugs, lamps, and wall art. Custom-made pieces are available to order as well.

A small team runs Venta Furnishings, including Erica’s father, who helps in the showroom now that he’s retired. Venta Furnishings also employs a dedicated warehouse and delivery team. Most of them have been with the company for years. This allows Erica and David to tell their customers with total confidence that the people handling their new furniture and entering their homes will do so with care and respect throughout the entire process.

Erica was born and raised in San Antonio, so serving its residents feels particularly important to her. She feels like the world is so fast-paced these days, and she wants people to be able to slow down, take their time, and make a connection when they walk into the Venta Furnishings showroom. Erica shared that what often begins as a simple search for furniture quickly turns into something more. Customers find themselves sitting on a couch they’re considering, opening up, and sharing stories from their lives. “This is not transactional. It’s a relationship.”

Erica tries to get to know her customers first because it’s her goal to speak to them like they are a member of her family. Sometimes that includes difficult conversations about money. She told me that being up front and honest about the budget is the first step when helping a customer with a potential purchase. It helps her advise them on how much they should be spending and what to buy. Then they try to balance style and quality with the budget. “We really try to work with a customer on what is genuinely the best fit for them.” Erica can also provide a personalized design session with clients who would like more guidance.

David and Erica want to be able to provide furniture to anyone who walks into their showroom, which is why they always want to know each person’s goal for their purchase. If the customer is tired of replacing their couches every few years, then they prioritize the quality and durability of the sofa along with their budget. Customer education is also a high priority at Venta Furnishings. David and Erica like to communicate the difference in materials and durability to their customers. They also want them to know the lifetime of the products they are buying, as well as the warranties that will come with their purchase.

Erica prefers to educate her clients even if that means they may not purchase as much that day. Many times, she will see those same educated customers come back in a year, ready to buy the next piece of furniture. Erica and David try to sit down with each customer and go through everything in an itemized way, line by line. Erica told me, “I don’t ever want anyone to feel taken advantage of.” Many customers have told them that no one has ever explained these things to them when they’ve made similar large purchases. That kind of care is what keeps customers returning to Venta Furnishings over and over again.

Erica is particularly excited when returning customers visit the showroom, so she can hear about how their lives have been going since the last time she saw them. Venta Furnishing’s business has mostly grown through client recommendations, and a large portion of their monthly sales are with returning customers and referrals. They also place a lot of importance on having a no-pressure showroom. If a person comes into their showroom and just wants to look around, the team at Venta Furnishings respects that. Their hundreds of 5-star reviews are evidence of a satisfied customer base.

While there may be plenty of places to buy furniture in San Antonio, there are probably only a few that would know you by name. Venta Furnishings is one of those places. David and Erica Bogran truly enjoy serving the San Antonio community and providing their customers with beautiful furniture at a price they can afford. They take the time to ensure everyone leaves the showroom feeling informed and confident in their purchase. But the most meaningful part of their customers’ experience is the lasting relationship built not just with a business, but with a family that genuinely cares.
