Garlic Mushroom Bruschetta

A Thanksgiving Starter

Mushrooms are an earthy, savory treat, and these are perfect flavors to feature in a warm appetizer before your Thanksgiving dinner.

Ingredients:

  • ½ crusty bread loaf, cut into slices
  • 1 ½ cup of mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh, chopped parsley
  • ¼ teaspoon lemon juice
  • A generous pinch of sea salt and a pinch of pepper (to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon Sriracha or another sweet hot sauce

Instructions:

  • Sliced bread into small pieces. Brush with olive oil and toast in the oven at 400℉ until the edges are golden (about 5 minutes).
  • Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet on medium-high heat.
  • Add mushrooms, garlic, salt and pepper, and turn mushrooms to cook evenly till golden brown.
  • Add lemon juice when the mushrooms are nearly finished browning.
  • Use a slotted spoon to remove mixture from skillet and toss with fresh parsley.
  • Spread the mushrooms onto the small, toasted bread slices, and top with fresh parmesan.
