Mushrooms are an earthy, savory treat, and these are perfect flavors to feature in a warm appetizer before your Thanksgiving dinner.
Ingredients:
- ½ crusty bread loaf, cut into slices
- 1 ½ cup of mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon fresh, chopped parsley
- ¼ teaspoon lemon juice
- A generous pinch of sea salt and a pinch of pepper (to taste)
- ½ teaspoon Sriracha or another sweet hot sauce
Instructions:
- Sliced bread into small pieces. Brush with olive oil and toast in the oven at 400℉ until the edges are golden (about 5 minutes).
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet on medium-high heat.
- Add mushrooms, garlic, salt and pepper, and turn mushrooms to cook evenly till golden brown.
- Add lemon juice when the mushrooms are nearly finished browning.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove mixture from skillet and toss with fresh parsley.
- Spread the mushrooms onto the small, toasted bread slices, and top with fresh parmesan.
