Healing From the Inside Out

One Mother's Story

For years, I thought I was healthy. I ate my vegetables. I worked out. I didn’t eat a ton of fast food, but I was always sick. Stomach pains, exhaustion, brain fog, joint pain. All of which were given some diagnosis by multiple doctors. Two years ago, my youngest son and I got extremely ill. Neither of us could do much of anything without being completely wiped out and in a ton of pain. We even started noticing extreme behaviors, anxiety, and more. It’s one thing for me to be sick, but seeing your child not even be able to go for a walk was the motivation I needed to make big changes. We found out that we had mold toxicity. A lot of illnesses that are related to this, have similar symptoms, which is why we were often misdiagnosed.

I slowly started making changes. I started small by replacing all of my toxic household items with nontoxic ones. I stopped using perfumes and harsh chemicals on/in my body. We started eating whole foods every day and I stopped buying products that, if I couldn’t read the words on the back of the label, it didn’t go in my cart.

It was hard to see changes as they were happening because they were small, but one day, my son was out walking and started running. He looks back at us and yells “Mommy, daddy! I can run and my legs don’t hurt anymore!” Cue the tears. It was then that I made the conscious decision to never go back to
the life we had before.

Is being "healthy" easy? No, it’s not, it takes a lot of hard work. I spend hours in the kitchen prepping and on my computer researching. Watching my kids become strong and healthy is all the reminder I need to keep pushing forward. My family is everything to me and I will continue to fight for them.
