IDEAS

Kitchen: When it comes to selling your home, kitchens and bathrooms have the greatest return on investment. Along with granite or quartz countertops, a decorative backsplash will add interest and appeal. Stick with classic and clean designs, avoiding overly trendy finishes.

Bathrooms: Motion sensored lights behind mirrors are a unique and inexpensive touch to any bathroom. Not only are they easy to install, but they add a touch of surprise and convenience.

Bedrooms: A common theme for any area of the home is to neutralize colors. This is a good time to paint over the mural in the nursery. Be sure to open blinds and curtains to allow natural light for showings. New carpets are a great bang for your buck, if need be.

Living Area: A fresh coat of paint and new baseboard can do wonders in giving potential buyers a great first impression. Elena recommends white shader baseboards, as they add a clean and modern feel. (Be sure to stick with neutral paint colors!)

Dining room: Install a unique light fixture or a modern chandelier. Something like this can be not only a great conversation piece, but also creates the “wow” factor for potential buyers. Put out fresh flowers or fresh fruit for showings/ photographs.

Exterior: The best thing that you can do for your home is to keep up with general maintenance. Does your home need a repaint? Is your landscaping overgrown in places? If you don’t notice, someone else will. Flower pots also help add to curb appeal.
