As a proud sixth-generation resident of Fairfield, Connecticut, Libby McKinney Tritschler has deep-rooted ties to the town she calls home. Her family first settled in the area in 1840. She grew up in the historic Greenfield Hill neighborhood, shaped by the town's rich heritage and her father's role as a U.S. Congressman. Says Libby, " My father played a significant role in the community, and his influence shaped much of my upbringing." Now a longtime Southport resident, she continues to foster community connections through her thriving real estate career. "I chose to raise my children in Southport, where I have lived ever since. Fairfield, particularly the Southport area, has always felt like home to me- its history and its community."
After raising her children, Libby reentered the workforce and was drawn to real estate by her love of homes, people, and Fairfield's unique charm. In 2013, she launched On The Harbor. "I decided to focus my marketing efforts on waterfront properties and the surrounding town of Southport. This niche allowed me to connect with the community and really specialize in something I feel passionate about."
That passion has brought longevity and success. Through market shifts and industry changes, Libby has built a lasting business by embracing new technologies, refining marketing strategies, and prioritizing client relationships. Her expertise and adaptability have allowed her to guide buyers and sellers with confidence, regardless of market conditions. Strong, trustworthy partnerships and consistently delivering results have helped maintain her loyal client base.
For Libby, Fairfield is more than just a place to live—it's a community where small businesses thrive, traditions are honored, and neighbors support one another. "I accompanied my father as he walked his district, knocking on doors while running for his congressional seat. He made it clear to our family how vital local government is and emphasized the importance of supporting our community's small businesses." She is a proud supporter of local institutions like the Pequot Library and Southport Congregational Church, sponsoring events such as the annual Garden Stroll and Rooms with a View. She also champions Southport Village's beloved shopping district and special shops, including Lattice House, Women's Exchange and Spic and Span Market. " I'm proud that On the Harbor has had the chance to support events that celebrate and strengthen our community, says Libby. Fairfield has shaped my life by providing a stable, peaceful environment while still offering multiple opportunities for growth, learning and family fun. Some of my favorite activities are spending time on the beach, shopping downtown or going to one of the many great restaurants for a bite to eat."
Libby remains focused on helping others find their place in the community she cherishes with its coastal beauty, vibrant downtown, and exceptional dining scene. On the Harbor's dedication to exceptional customer service and expert insights continues to distinguish it as a leader in the industry. Libby's hope for the future? That Fairfield's unique blend of history, charm, and community spirit is preserved for generations to come. "My connection in the town runs deep and I am proud to be a part of its ongoing story.”
