Lost Buddy Original Dry Rub has been in my family for four generations, so I have literally been enjoying it for my entire life. My parents used to give it away to anyone who asked… we even gave it as our wedding favor in 2010!

When I decided it was time to start selling it, I knew we would have the support of family and friends who had been enjoying it for years. I was so thrilled when Chef Jared Campbell approached me about bringing Garden Salt into the Lost Buddy family of products; it is the perfect complement to the Original Dry Rub.

We have lots of plans for the future and can't wait to grow, but for now, here are some of my favorite recipes that feature our spices. If you’re anything like my friends and family, I guarantee you’re going to love them!

Ribeye
Ingredients:
Ribeye steak (preferred size)
Lost Buddy Garden Salt
Extra-virgin olive oil
Lost Buddy Original Dry Rub

Instructions:

  1. Coat the ribeye in Lost Buddy Garden Salt and set it out on the counter until it reaches room temperature.
  2. Gently wipe the salt off with a towel or paper towel.
  3. Re-coat with olive oil.
  4. Generously cover with Lost Buddy Original Dry Rub. Gently press the rub into the meat.
  5. Let seasoned ribeye rest for up to 30 minutes.
  6. Grill ribeye to the desired temperature. Medium rare is recommended.

Y’all… this dish is my Number 1 favorite! The way the sugar in the Dry Rub caramelizes the fat of the ribeye is amazing… I’m drooling thinking about it!

Edamame
Ingredients:
1 bag of edamame beans in the pod, frozen
1 tablespoon Lost Buddy Garden Salt
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1 quart water

Instruction:

  1. Bring the water to boil in a medium pot.
  2. Add the frozen edamame beans to the boiling water.
  3. Boil until the edamame is bright green (approx 4-5 minutes).
  4. Drain the water.
  5. Drizzle the olive oil over the edamame to coat, and then sprinkle generously with Lost Buddy Garden Salt.

If I had the money, I would open a restaurant just to serve this as an appetizer.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts
Ingredients:
1 bag frozen Brussels sprouts
3 slices bacon, diced (Klein’s Smokehouse is my preferred provider)
¼ onion, diced
1 tablespoon Lost Buddy Original Dry Rub

Instruction:

  1. Thoroughly wash the Brussels sprouts.
  2. Slice the larger sprouts in half while leaving the small ones whole.
  3. Saute bacon and onions in a pan on low heat until cooked.
  4. Add Brussels sprouts to the pan, and add Lost Buddy Original Dry Rub.
  5. Continue sauteing until tender.

This Brussels sprouts recipe is so good even my kids will eat it!

Avocado Toast
Ingredients:
2 slices sourdough bread
2 teaspoons of butter (I love Kerrygold)
2 large avocados
2 eggs
2 teaspoons of Lost Buddy Original Dry Rub
2 teaspoons of Lost Buddy Garden Salt

Instructions:

  1. Spread the butter (1 teaspoon) on each slice of sourdough, and toast the bread in the oven or on a cast iron skillet.
  2. Thoroughly mash the avocados and mix in all of the Lost Buddy Original Dry Rub.
  3. Cook the eggs to taste (I love over-medium, so the yolk is firm but still a little runny).
  4. Spread half of the avocado mixture on each of the toasted sourdough slices.
  5. Lay a cooked egg on top of each slice.
  6. Sprinkle Lost Buddy Garden Salt on the eggs.

I don’t care if you call me a “millennial”… this is the BEST BRUNCH!
